The module has been designed for intelligent ("smart") activation of trailer (caravan) battery charging. The module activates trailer (caravan) battery charging after both conditions are met:

1. the trailer is connected (based on a signal from the main module of the towbar harness);
2. the voltage of the car's electrical system is increased - i.e. the car's engine is on.

A novelty in the current version of the ICM module is the ability to independently adjust (regulate) the threshold of the battery charging circuit.
